Day 5: Remember; in this country they drive on the wrong side of the road.

When cycling in France it is important to remember the immortal advice of Sir Michael Cane; that in this country they do indeed drive on the wrong side of the road. I've had about three brief lapses in which I have forgotten this so far, and I think I may now be cured of it. I shall say no more.

A muffin for breakfast in Dax.

It is just before 16:00 Local and I've bashed out the 80 or so Km from my camp site, just to the west of Dax to Pau in a reasonable time. My northerly route seems to have payed off with a largely flat route, save a considerable ridge to surmount on the approach to Orthez.

Its been a fairly uneventful day of stomping across the French planes under overcast skies, stopping periodically to charge my GPS and upload some photos and eat.

I hoped to be in the vicinity of Lourdes by the evening (40Km from here), so (depending upon the weather) I can make an attempt at the Tormalet tomorrow evening, following a morning in Lourdes it's self.
I got to a camp site, about 10Km outside of Lourdes, but got soaked in the process as it began raining as soon as I rolled out of Pau.

Boiling the kettle for some hot food and drink, whilst I sit in the tent out of the rain.
